The Bay Area is a dynamic and exciting place to live, work and play. We are blessed with an abundance of great restaurants, world class museums, shopping districts, entertainment, as well as on of the most striking and one of spectacular physical environments in the world. At Marvin Gardens we take pride in the communities we serve and love where we live. Here we share some of our favorite Bay Area activities and adventures. Each month we will add new reviews and suggestions of some of our Favorite Things do and see. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. This Month’s Selections YES, Youth Enrichment Strategies Recommended by Diane Mintz
Each year YES accomplishes its mission by sending hundreds of children ages 8 – 16 to week-long summer camps around the San Francisco Bay Area; by bringing entire families and school communities to Family Camps in the redwoods; and by offering PeaceTalk communication workshops to our Richmond community. Since 1999, Youth Enrichment Strategies, a nonprofit in Richmond, California, has enriched the lives of thousands of underserved youth, their caregivers and families by deepening relationships through experiences in nature.
The Solano Stroll, perhaps the largest East Bay street festival, takes place the second Sunday every September. There is a parade in the morning, and street vendors with crafts, food, and music for everyone's taste. It's a wonderful place to learn about city services and community organizations. If you are new to the area or looking for new things to do, this is a great event to check out. Parking can be challenging; check the Solano Stroll website for shuttle service. Great fun for kids of all ages.

"Part of the East Bay Regional Park District, Tilden Regional Park and Nature Area is a local treasure located in the hills just behind Berkeley and Kensington. We love this park for its beauty, easy accessibility and huge variety of recreational adventures..."
